2023 HB 1069

Excerpts from HB 1069 to be added to Florida law effective July 1, 2023

Please offer feedback. Which parts of this bill apply only to the district-run schools and which parts apply to all publicly funded schools? My guesses are in red.

Line references are to the lines on HB 1069

Beginning on line 153<==district-run and charter schools

The Department of Education must approve any materials used for instruction under this subsection.

Beginning on line 270<==district-run schools only

Each district school board is responsible for the content of all instructional materials and any other materials used in a classroom, made available in a school or classroom library, ... [a bunch of onerous stuff required NOT of all publicly funded schools, only the schools run by the locally elected school board] ... The costs of the special magistrate shall be borne by the school district.
