The Fight Continues: Efforts to Expand Abortion Access in Florida After Amendment 4 Narrowly Fails
Florida remains under a six-week abortion ban after voters in the state rejected Amendment 4, a constitutional amendment on the ballot in 2024, that would have guaranteed abortion rights.

Though a majority of Florida voters supported the measure, it failed to clear the state’s required 60 percent supermajority, the highest threshold any abortion rights measure has been held to since Roe v. Wade’s overturn in 2022. ​

Legislative Action: Democratic lawmakers introduced bills to protect abortion access, arguing that the 2024 vote showed public opposition to the current restrictions, according to the Florida Phoenix.

Continued Advocacy: Organizations like Floridians Protecting Freedom are continuing to fight for reproductive autonomy and against government interference.

The GOP's supermajority in the state Legislature is a significant barrier to the passage of laws expanding abortion access. In fact, bills to further restrict abortion in the state were introduced in the 2026 session. The JAX NOW PAC supports candidates in state and local elections that support reproductive rights and abortion access.
Reclaim Choice: Help Shut Down Fake Clinics
​The state of Florida currently provides nearly $30 million annually in funding to anti-abortion organizations operating Crisis Pregnancy Centers (aka Fake Clinics) through the Florida Pregnancy Care Network. Crisis Pregnancy Centers are anti-abortion facilities that present themselves as legitimate healthcare providers. These fake clinics deliberately delay access to care, distribute medically inaccurate information, and compromise patient privacy. Currently, there are more than 190 fake clinics across the state.
